ACT – American College Testing

ACT – American College Testing is a standardized test set to check the ability of the candidate in five key areas as a part of the admission process in Undergraduate admissions (mostly in the US and Canadian universities or colleges). This test consists of four sections which are English, Mathematics, Social Studies and Natural Science.


ACT Exam Format

1. English – This is of the 45-minute English test covering questions related to usage and mechanics – Sentence issues such as commas, apostrophes, modifiers, colons, and fragments, Sentence structure.


2. Math – The second section is a 60-minute, 60-question math test covering the topics such as Pre-algebra, plane geometry, trigonometry, coordinate geometry and more and allows calculators with paper taps.


3. Reading – Reading – This section lasts for 35 minutes, consists of 40 questions, and contains passages to assess the reading skills of candidates.


 4. Science reasoning – This section contains 40 questions which must be completed in 35 minutes. This section assesses the candidates analytical, reasoning, problem solving and interpretative skills.
